Ready to go home.

Tyler's hearing test.

Just before going in for the C-section

I went into labor at about 11:30pm on the 19th of December. That afternoon I had a brief 15 minute period where I was having contractions that were stronger than the normal Braxton Hicks I was having, but it passed and I didn't think of it again. That night I was by myself downstairs, I hadn't been able to sleep in our bed because it made my back hurt. I went to bed feeling a little sick to my stomach and it just wouldn't go away. I finally accepted that I may throw up and I started making my way towards the bathroom where I did indeed throw up. Almost immediately I started having contractions, about 3 to 5 minutes apart. I waited about an hour, to see if it would pass, like the ones I had that afternoon, but it did not. I went upstairs and woke Jason... this had to be it. We sat in bed with Marcus, Penny and Spencer all there the whole time and charted the contractions. How long were they, how far apart and also how many times did I throw up. We made a couple calls to the Labor and Delivery nurse and finally at about 5am on December 20th we headed to the hospital. I was very dehydrated when I was admitted and Tyler was not a happy boy inside of me. He had a very fast heart rate and we both needed to be stabilized. They hydrated me with fluids and we both did much better. Tyler was having some periodic abnormalities with his heart rate. It would be very fast at times and then too low at other points. The doctors were concerned about his heart rate and were unsure as to why it was happening. I was not progressing and I also had a low blood count and they became concerned that I may be bleeding internally. On the night of the 20th, I got a sleeping pill and a shot of Morphine to get me to sleep for a few hours in preparation for induction the following morning. Jason and I slept and a 5am on December 21st they started inducing me. Not long after it started, Tyler's little heart took a dip again and the doctors stopped the induction to re-stabilize us. In that 24 hours we had gone through 5 shifts of doctors and nurses, the next doctor on duty, OURS! She gave us a couple choices... try to induce me again and see what happens, possibly going to C-section or, go straight to C-section. Jason and I had already talked it over and we did not want to risk either Tyler or myself getting into a crisis and having an emergent situation on our hands. We decided to go straing to a C-section and at 11:49am on the 21st our baby boy was here! 7 lbs 6 oz, 19 1/2 inches long... Tyler Anthony Hunt.
