Spencer managed my calendar for the day... thanks Spence!
Jason went back to work today. He had an entire month off with us and we really enjoyed our month together as a new family, we definitely missed Daddy today!
Tyler has two poses... one we call the "muscle man". Fairly self explanatory. The other we call "Ricky Bobby". From Taladega Nights, the Legend of Ricky Bobby, Ricky is giving an interview when he first starts racing and "doesn't know what do with his hands". Tyler does something very similar when he eats. His little hands hover on either side of his face, eventually coming to rest lightly on each cheek. If you have not seen Taladega Nights, you probably should :)
Pete Carroll officially resigned from USC and accepted the head coaching position for the Seattle Seahawks. He was offered a 5 year contract paying $7 million a year over the course of the deal.
Today I took a walk with the dogs, Tyler and Trish (my personal photographer for the day). Trish came down from Washington to stay with us and visit our newest addition. I have not done any kind of physical activity for a while, it was SO nice to get out and go for a walk. Tyler took his first spin in the baby bjorn, and the dogs were in heaven tearing through the woods.
It is rumored that the Seattle Seahawks, who fired head coach Jim Mora, are close to reaching an agreement with USC's Pete Carroll to be their next coach. Although the Seahawks and Carroll are close to a deal, which is believed to be a 5 year contract to become president and head coach at $7 million a year, nothing has been signed yet, said sources.
Jim Mora's stay as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks is over -after only one season. The club announced January 8th that Mora had been relieved of his coaching duties after the Seahawks went 5-11 in his only season as coach.
Tyler has had quite a few visitors, I have tried to get pictures of all of them but havn't been 100% successful (sorry to those who aren't pictured) ... look who came to visit!
In true oregon fashion we got hit with a brief snow storm at rush hour on the 29th that was only a "possibility of a light wintery mix" according to forecasters. Jason and I had loaded Tyler in the car and were heading to his parents for dinner. We never made it. We ended up stuck in the snow traffic for 4 and a half hours. For those of you who know the area... we drove to Tualatin and back to Happy Valley in that amount of time. We did get to play a bit in the snow once we got home.
I did not put the boppy on Penny, she wiggled her way under it and through it.
Tyler is in the crib here... I kept asking Penny to "come" with me and she wouldn't!
Our dog Penny has a very hard time staying away from Tyler. She loves him! Marcus is concerned about him and interested in him too, but Penny just takes it to a whole new level.
We gave Tyler his first bath a few days after he was born... he didn't like that one and really hasn't liked one since. He likes to be wrapped in a warm towel after his bath is over though. We discovered that his hair is curly, like Mom's, when it's wet.
Four Generations... Jason's Mom Susan, Jason with Tyler, and Jason's Grandfather, David Carey.
Kamryn holds her cousin for the first time.
Uncle Steve and Tyler
Matt and Caleb with their new cousin Tyler
Dad's favorite "sef portrait" shot :)
Marcus and Penny kept an eye on Tyler while Jason and I opened gifts Christmas morning.
It was Spencer's first Christmas with us too.
The best gift this Christmas was Tyler!
We were released from the hospital on the 23rd, we couldn't have been happier that we had Tyler home in time to celebrate Christmas! Jason and I LOVE Christmas and we will never forget this year! Jason's family came over to celebrate with us on Christmas day, as did my brother Steve and his twin boys Matt and Caleb. Jason's grandfather was in town from North Carolina so four generations were together at Christmas this year.
