My Great Uncle and Aunt live in Pennsylvania and we don't get to see them as often as either of us would like. They were recently out this way for a wedding and we got to spend an afternoon with them. They were meeting Tyler for the first time and we had such a fun afternoon together.Tyler was looking through Grandpa Mick's magazines. He pulled them all off the coffee table and then ripped a few pages out that he was interested in :)

Tyler still wasn't quite on all 4's with his crawling yet, still army crawling around so Larry took some time out of canning to help teach him... he was up and running and crawling like a champ the next day - thanks for the help Larry!

Growing so fast...

Tyler has been busy growing over the last couple months... he's been very busy learning to pull himself up on just about anything, crawling, learning a couple "words" and cutting teeth. He has 6 teeth now, 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. He points at everything and is saying "ba ba ba", "ma ma ma", "da da da" and "na na na". He occasionally will say "Mom" or "Dad" too which we love! He loves the color blue and anything that is in the shape of a ball. He prefers to walk (with assistance from us still) and likes to practice as much as possible. Another favorite for him right now is trees, if the wind is blowing the leaves he is absolutely captivated, he points at them, then looking at me as if to say, Mom do you see this?

Tyler helps me do just about everything, we were watering the dogs this day and he stood by to assist.

This is Tyler one moring... he usually wakes up and crawls around the house in his jammies for a while exploring. He is such a happy baby!

Snack time

He LOVES books, loves to turn the pages, hear the stories and point to the illustrations and say things to them.

He is also busy learning how to be a Seahawk fan!

Pumpkin Patch

Tyler's first trip to a pumpkin patch was a great one! We met up with Jason's family and spent the afternoon at a petting zoo, climbing a haystack and finally picking out our pumpkins. Tyler had a blast on the haystack with Kamryn and on the train that took us all around the farm looking at the animals up close and finding our perfect pumpkins.

Seahawks 2010

Jason, Troy and I made the trip to the first Seahawk game of the year. We went early to the game and hit the beer gardens at the Pyramid Brewery, accross the street from Quest Field beforehand.
Jason and Troy's parking attendant friends had saved them a spot. We pulled in, and they had it all coned off for us.

Family Dinner

With Tyler eating mostly food now, it has been a lovely late summer of family dinners on the back patio :) I have been making his food for him and so far he is a fan!

Cannon Beach

It was time for Tyler's first trip to the beach. We got very lucky with the weather, it was sunny and warm, which is a RARE occurance at the Oregon coast :) We made a day of it, brought the dogs and spent the day travelling. We started out visiting Jason's jobsite in Hillsboro. We were the quintessential "Sunday Drivers" cutting off people we didn't see because we were creeping at like 5mph looking at the hospital. Oopsie :) It was amazing to see a building of that magnitude that Jason is building. I'm so proud :)

After a bit, Tyler was up from a nap and we found a nice rest stop to feed him breakfast and let the dogs have a break.

Tyler's toes in the sand for the first time... He loved the feel of the sand and seemed so surprised at the feeling too. There were shallow pools of water that was really warm and he really liked dipping his toes in those.

Quad

After helping some friends of ours move one afternoon, Jason returned home with this "hand me down". This little motorized Quad. It is sooo cute, perfect size for Tyler and he LOVES to ride it! Thanks Mike, Heather and Lincoln!

Lucille Turns 90!

Jason's grandmother turned 90 in July! We spent the afternoon at Blue Lake park to celebrate with the Hunt family. We were huddled around the BBQ when we showed up it was so cold, but before long the sun made an appearance. We were so glad to spend the afternoon with Grandma Lucille!

First Food

We chose butternut squash to be Tylers first food... he HATED it! He had about 3 bites the first night, and on night 2 he had about 5 or 6 and vomited it back up. The next day we gave him sweet potatoes and it's been food heaven ever since. He LOVES sweet potatoes and yams. These pictures are from the butternut squash night, his actual first bites... you can see how much he enjoyed it :)

Perks of the Job

Every once in a while, the Oregon Zoo calls and needs our (VDIC's) imaging services. Most of the time, we go to the Zoo and do ultrasounds, most recently on a polar bear and an orangutan. We have also had a wolf come in for an MRI in the past. This time, and ourangutan, Batik was her name, needed a CT and an echocardiogram (ultrasound of her heart). These animals travel with quite an entourage to keep them anesthetized adequately and give them the specialized care they need. Because of my recent ultrasound training I was fortunate enough to get to assist my Radiologist during the exam. It was very exciting, another experience I'll never forget! She is difficult to see in some of these pictures, she was under anesthesia and covered by heating blankets but if you look close you can see her arm resting on her head :)

Accomplishments

So one thing I have wanted to do since I had Tyler was be able to walk the dogs and push Tyler in the stroller at the same time. I decided I just needed to jump in and try it. The dogs were better behaved when I had them both on leash while pushing the stroller than when I walk them without... again I am feeling very fortunte! So the four of us spent a nice afternoon up the road from our house in a grassy area where the dogs were free to run and Tyler and I could relax.
