Soccer

For some strange reason I decided to start playing soccer again. There is an indoor center directly accross from where I work so one evening I walked over and watched the womens teams play. I watched 3 games, picked a team and walked over and asked them if I could sub for them sometime. They emailed me that night and I have been playing with them ever since. We play both indoor and outdoor. We always do a "beer cheer" and sit around after the games with a beer bitching about the other team -it's perfect! I couldn't have found a better fit. I got my team and individual pics taken at the last game - on my cell phone :) I am not sure I will ever grow up.

Off With One, On With Another

We chose blue this time. Tyler hit the floor and walked immediately! He was SO excited to bend his knee. He did these really funny little squats before ever taking a step and had a huge smile. The doctor warned us that he may not walk or he may limp for a while. He walks like the cast is still there most of the time, stiff legged, but is improving daily.

THE LEG :)

This Month... Broken Arm

Really? Three weeks exactly after he broke his leg, Tyler was cruising around as usual and tripped on his leg cast. He had a hot-wheel car in his left hand and fell all his weight on the right arm. He cried an unusually long amount of time and a tiny red spot showed up, one that I remembered seeing on his leg when he broke that. So, we called the doctor and made the appointment as soon as we could. I was actually leaving town and had to leave him and Jason to do the appointment alone. That was not an easy thing to do. So, Dad had to hold him for some x-rays and sure enough, fracture number two. They splinted it and told us to make an appointment with the pediatric orthopedic surgeon for casting the following monday. LUCKY FOR US we already had an appointment to remove his leg cast - yes REALLY! He is doing great with the two casts, it hasn't really slowed him down. Eating was/is challenging with the left hand. Jason has been calling him "lefty".

Why Not

Meet Mow-Mow

We brought the lawn mower out recently and he now refers to it as Mow-Mow. Still doing great with the leg cast.

4th of July

This 4th was AMAZING! Super nice weather and we boated literally all day with my brother's family. I had not been wakeboarding in 2 summers, so I was super excited to go again. This was also Tyler's first boat ride. He did pretty well when we were going slow but didn't care for the wind too much. The whole next day he kept saying "dano boat" (translated: yellow boat, which is the color of Steve's boat). After boating we BBQ'd in Sherwood. Jason and I let off some small fireworks of our own and watched some big shows from our deck. Maybe next year Tyler will stay awake for fireworks :)
