April 2009... Putting

We have the best neighbors. Jack and Clairine live accross our street. Jack is the sweetest man. He is voluntarily our "doggie day care". He comes over and lets Marcus and Penny out for a break every day that we work. The dogs love their Grandpa Jack! He also wheels our trash and recycling in from the street every week. We tried to get him to stop but it was no use! Jack had a putting green put in so Jason and I go over and practice from time to time. We are so lucky!

March 2009... Arizona

Jason had a conference in Phoenix so, I flew in on the tail end of that and we went to some Cubbies Spring training games in Mesa,AZ. We golfed and enjoyed the sunshine, it was tough to come back to reainy Portland after that trip.

February 2009... Spencer

In February I heard of a cat that was looking for a new home. Jason has always said to me, "I want a big fat orange cat, that sits around and does nothing". Spencer (previously known as Dusty) needed a home, and he fit the bill. His family had to move away and couln't take him. When I met Spence I knew he would fit our family perfectly, and he does. He went on the 'Biggest Loser' Feline edition and went fron 18.3 lbs to 15.3 lbs in 7 months. He is now a happy, healthier member of the Hunt Family.

Do It Yourself

After

Before
We had one more project we wanted to do around the house. Our home layout had a vaulted ceiling in our entry and we always talked about adding a loft in that space. So in the spring of 2008, we did. We took the opportunity to replace the carpet throughout the house as well. Jason did an amazing job on our new railing and I painted our new rooms.

Lets get a dog

We were married, had a house and not ready for kids yet, so the logical move is to get a dog, right? Well, anyone who knows us knows we are the type of people who know what they want and will do whatever necessary to accomplish it, some might say we are a bit "set in our ways". I wanted a female dog, a Vizsla. I had been raised wit two of them and always wanted one myself when the time was right. Jason wanted a calm, loving companion, specifically a male because he had always had females, oh and a labrador retriever. Hmmmm... we have a problem. Well, as in any good marriage we came to a comprimse and got TWO dogs. Two puppies, one month apart in age. Marcus (after Marcus Trufant, Corner Back for the Seattle Seahawks) our Lab, and Penny, our Vizsla. The dogs are now almost 3 years old and although challenging at first, we have never been happier with our decision to get two at once! They have been SO much fun, and will continue to be for years!

Goodbye Bandit

My cat Bandit had been with me for 6 years and been there through the wedding and the move to our new house. She lost a battle with Lymphoma January 7th, 2007. She was very special to Jason and I both and our home remained empty for months before we were ready for another animal.
